Norman L. Stemen, 83, died peacefully at 2:10 AM on Friday, August 24, 2018, at his residence in Lima, surrounded by his family.
Norman was born on November 27, 1934, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Don Stemen and Dorothy (Garrison) Stemen. On Saturday, August 7, 1954, he married Mary Ann (Fillhart) Stemen, who survives in Lima.
He is survived by: daughters; Joyce (Trent) Stemen-Christy, Lisa Anne (Rich) Williams, Marie Kaye Wagner; son, Gregory (Linda) Stemen, all of Lima: grandchildren Ginger, Katie, Benjamin (Angel), Jenny (Dan), Tim (Jessica), Tina (Jon), Matt, Mike, John (Jamie) and Dan: sisters - Cynthia "Jean" Milton, Marilyn Kaye Stalians, Carol Rose Marmon, all of California. In addition he has 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Norman served in the Army during the Korean conflict from April 6, 1954 to March 27, 1956.
Norman worked at Oakwood Forensics as the head of housekeeping and retired as a psychiatric attendant. He then worked at Marimor Industries.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 with a Parish Wake Service beginning at 8:00 PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Reverend Jim Szobonya will officiate.
Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice or St. Rose Catholic Church.
