Norman Eugene "Gene" Wehner, Jr. 60, died at 9:15 a.m. May 18, 2008, at his residence. He was born November 29, 1947, in Lima, Ohio to Norman E. and Elizabeth Mullenhour Wehner Sr., who preceded him in death. On January 28, 1967, he married Cheryl Green, who survives in Elida, Ohio. Mr. Wehner worked at K&M Tire, Delphos. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a life member of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, where he was a two-time past exalted ruler and had been a state Americanism chairman. He was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School, where he was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 1991 for service to LCC. He attended the University of Detroit. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State University. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. Survivors also include six sisters- and brothers-in-law, Janice (Darrell) Ball, Marcia (Terry) Baggs and James (Rebecca) Green, all of Lima, Ohio, Pamela (Steve) Thompson, of Edinburg, Indiana, William (Janis) Green, of Lima, Ohio, and Therese Green, of Jackson, Micigan.; five nieces; six nephews; 11 great-nieces; two great-nephews; and his faithful dog, Buck. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Lima. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
