Onethia Cotrell

Onethia Cotrell, 84, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022, at her home.

Onethia was born on July 6, 1938, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Ashland and Vinia (Rowe) Wireman.  On December 3, 1958, she married Gerald “Gary” Cotrell, who preceded her in death on February 14, 2005.

Onethia enjoyed being outside and that’s why she chose to work at Labor Local 329, which she then retired from. She loved to play BINGO, and cook. Her family was a large part of who she was as a person.

She is survived by her son, Ashland Eugene (Angela Dawn) Cotrell; grandchildren: Suzannah (Eric) Polivka, Melissa (Logan) Cutlip, Ashland (Katlynn) Cotrell II, and Annalissa (Deron Perkins) Cotrell; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Gabriel, Julian, Emily, Ryan, Ronin, Ashland III, and Caiden; and siblings, Oneal (Patty) Wireman, Fielden (Etta Jean) Wireman, Bonnie Lou (Mike) Melvin, Dovie Faye (Charlie Sizemore) Gayheart.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 29 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Chamberlain- Huckeriede Funeral Home.  Rev. Dean Rowe and Rev. James Rowe will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
