OPAL E. WILLIAMS, 104, died at 6:45 a.m. August 13, 2005, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born July 3, 1901, in Allen County, Ohio, to Charles and Elizabeth Adams Miller. On October 25, 1922, she married John F. Williams, who died December 26, 1969. Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and its Ruth Circle. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center. She was an avid ballroom dancer. She loved to sew, crochet and garden. She had worked at the tank plant, the Greyhound bus station and Gordon's Dress Shop, where she worked as a seamstress. Survivors include two sons, John A. (Mary Lou) Williams of Ellenton, Florida, and Joe U. (Gerry) Williams of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Mildred L. (Robert) Kanawl of Lima, Ohio; nine grandchildren, James Williams, Doug Williams, Diane Whitney, Sharlene Horn, Janet Wierman, Tom Williams, Nancy Young, Richard Gwynn and Gary Hard, whom his grandmother helped raise; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a stepgreat-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, seven sisters, and two half sisters. Services will begin at 11 a.m.Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Alsteter Cemetery, Cairo, Ohio. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
