P. Duane Fett, 80, died at 7:04 a.m. April 25, 2008, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1927, in Beaverdam, Ohio to Pleyel W. and Ruth E. Weaver Fett, who preceded him in death. On June 13, 1951, in Winchester, Indiana, he married Rose M. Gallagher, who died June 21, 2001. Mr. Fett was the owner and operator of Duane Fett and Sons Construction Inc. He served in the Navy Seabees from October 31, 1945, to October 7, 1947. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, American Legion Post 96 and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, and he was a member of the Lake Erie Charter Boat Association. Survivors include a son, Douglas D. (Denise) Fett, of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Louis E. (Marilyn) Fett, of Lima, Ohio; two grandchildren, Nicole Marie (Gilbert) Ford, of Lima, Ohio, and Douglas J. (Yolanda) Fett, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and four great-grandchildren, Sophie Rose Ford, Gillian Nicole Ford, Noah Duane Fett and Xavier Donald Fett. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard W. Fett; and a son, Jeffrey Alan Fett. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Father Charles Obinwa will officiate.
