Patricia A. Marker,
88, passed away on November 25 at Willowbrook Christian Home in Columbus. Pat was born on November 24, 1929 in Lima to the late Herbert and Florence (Custy) Hooker. She was married to Richard Marker for 56 years until his death in 2005.
Pat joined Lima Locomotive (BLH, Clark Equipment) immediately after graduating from St John High School. Her last position was in the data processing department and she had 34 years of service when the plant closed in 1981.
She was a patron of the Lima Public Library and an avid reader, often finishing a book in a day in retirement. Pat and her husband went on frequent cruises and enjoyed meeting people from around the country and world. She had a special place in her heart for her 17 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat had many long term friends from the Lima area where she lived until 2016, including LaDonna Hill, Florence and Ed Swiderski, Judy and Sam Marquardt , Carolyn Ireland and Carolene Marker, all of whom showed great kindness during her health challenges of the last several years.
She is survived by her four children, Lynne Musto, Ellen (Jon) Quatman, Ann (Steve) Wenger and Tim (Katharine) Marker; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Musto; brother Herb and sisters Avis and Monica; her Aunt Rose and Uncle Joseph Goedde who helped raise her after her father died when she was two years old.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Gethsemani Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Gerard’s Catholic Church or the Lima Public Library.
