Paul Edward Cummings, 85, died at 6:24 p.m. December 6, 2008, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, Illinois. He was born January 24, 1923, in Berlin Heights to Paul Joseph and Florence Swicker Cummings , who preceded him in death. On June 7, 1947, he married Hilda Sanderson , who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Cummings retired after 28 years from Roadway Express, where he was a million mile driver. He was a member of Lodge 205 Free & Accepted Masons, Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star, the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Chapter 49 Royal Arch Masons, Council 29 Royal & Select Masons and Shawnee Commandery 14 Knights Templar. He was also a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1533, Indian Lake, American Legion Post 541, Continental, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and Springbrook Golf Course, both in Lima, Ohio. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, both in Lima, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include a son, Lee (Andria) Cummings, of Huntsville, Alabama; a daughter, Pamela Sue (Bob) Raukohl, of Lake Villa, Illinois; three brothers, Floyd (Janet) Worline and Dale (Colleen) Worline, both of Defiance, Ohio, and Eugene (Edie) Worline, of Dupont, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Florence Sanderson, of Paulding, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Vaughn Sanderson, of Paulding, Ohio; three grandchildren, Beth (Clyde) Green, of Racine, Wisconsin, Robert Raukohl, of International Falls, Minn., and Eric Raukohl, of Lake Villa, Illinois; and three great grandchildren, Alex Green, Megan Green and Robert Raukohl. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Bixby and Myrtle Jones; and a brother-in-law, Doyle Sanderson. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Edward Rinehart will officiate. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
