Paul J. DeMarco,

63, passed peacefully surrounded by his family after an extended illness at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Genesis Sylvania Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio.

Paul was born on January 29, 1954, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Albert John and Helena J. (Shortino) DeMarco.

Paul was a 1973 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School, Lima, Ohio. He had a passion for music, a gift for making everyone laugh, and was beloved by all who knew him. He was certified in maintenance and worked extensively in the local malls and at the Allen County Nursing Home.

He is survived by a son, Matthew Allen DeMarco of Columbus; a brother, Frank J. (Joan) DeMarco of Toledo; sisters, Patricia M. (Steven) Cira, Chelsea, MI, and Virginia A. (James) Hankle, Pittsburgh, PA; four nephews and one niece, Nicholas Frank DeMarco of Jacksonville, FL, Zachary James and Luke Harrison Hankle of Pittsburgh, PA and Tyler Steven and Kayla Lena Cira of Chelsea, MI.

The family will receive friends from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. A Parish Wake service will be held following visitation at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
