Paul Joseph Grothaus 58, died at 1:52 p.m. Sept. 13, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1949, in Lima to Harry J. and Marie Lemkuhl Grothaus, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 16, 1975, he married Mary E. Brinkman in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Lima. She survives in Lewis Center. Mr. Grothaus was director of client services and marketing for pharmaceutical and biotechnology at Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware. He served on the St. Gerard Parish Board and coached for St. Gerard CYO. He graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School and Ohio Northern University. He served in the Army from 1969 to 1971 in the Old Honor Guard. Survivors also include a daughter, Anna Grothaus, of Columbus; two sons, Justin (Tina Hurst) Grothaus, of Delaware and Eric (Elana Chu) Grothaus, of West Chester; a brother, Tim (Cheryl) Grothaus, of Lima; a sister, Jeanette (Steve) Thomas, of Ashland; and a grandson, Nick Grothaus, of Lewis Center. A memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor?s choice.
