PAUL E. HERMON, 83, died at 6:45 a.m. January 13, 2006, at his residence. He was born January 9, 1923, in Hardin County, Ohio to Lester Dow and Hazel Rager Hermon, who preceded him in death. On October 7, 1947, he married Juliana "Annie" M. Freund, who died March 20, 2000. Mr. Hermon was a metal finisher at Sheller Globe/Superior Coach. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He served in the Army from January 5, 1943, until February 6, 1946. He was an avid gardener and woodworker. Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Charles) Ritz of Fullerton, California, and Carole Hermon of La Habra, California; two brothers, Harding Hermon of McComb, Ohio, and Milan Hermon of Fort Myers, Florida; a sister, Katherine Diller Tussing of Findlay, Ohio; and a half brother, Samuel Hermon of Arlington, Ohio. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Gerald Hermon, Lester Hermon, Francis Hermon, LeRoy Hermon, Calvin Hermon, Eugene Hermon and Melvin Hermon, and three sisters, Geraldine Hermon, Naomi Butler and Faye Reigle Arnold. Graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Chaplain Joe F. Pumphrey will officiate.
