Paul W. Oliver, Sr., 65, died at 2:35 p.m. July 23, 2010, at Richland Manor Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 8, 1944, in North Creek, to Bernard G. and Twila E. Etter Oliver. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives. On Jan. 9, 1981, in Pandora, he married Marilyn Jean Jones, who survives in Lima. Mr. Oliver died after fighting a brave and lengthy battle with cancer. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2001 as a millwright. After retirement, he volunteered with the United Auto Workers-Ford handicap ramp program. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 370 and Local 1219 Ford retirees. He enjoyed bowling, golf and traveling. He loved playing cards, yard work and spending time with his grandkids. Survivors also include a son, Paul (Dawn Gabrelson) Oliver, Jr. of Gibralter, Mich.; a daughter, Christina (Donald Warner) Oliver of Beavercreek; a stepson, Robert (Dawn) Rode of Doylestown, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Brittany Oliver, Ethan Rode, Caleb Rode, Jonathan Rode, Devin Oliver, Garret Oliver and Lilliana Warner; two sisters, Patricia (William Sullivan and Carolyn (Jeff) Farrington; and a brother, Robert (Becky) Oliver. Services will begin at 11 a.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Adams will officiate.
