86, of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 7:35 P.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born March 23, 1926 in Columbus Grove, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edward Rampe and the late Emma (Bockrath) Rampe.
Mr. Rampe married Bertha McWhorter in April of 1979, she survives in Lima. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was a Veteran of World War II. He had worked over 19 years at Trinity Industries. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, and was an avid church attendee. He was an Ordained Catholic Priest from 1950 to the 1970's. He loved working with numbers and current events. He was an avid worker and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: a son, John (Linda) Rampe of Lima, OH; a daughter, Tonya Rampe of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Dai-Shawn Rampe, Anthony Rampe, and Jonathan Rampe; two sisters, Elaine Rupert of Celina, OH and Rebecca Metzger of Ravenna, OH.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert Rampe and Raymond Rampe; four sisters, Rita Traske, Esther Omler, Frances Potts and Catherine Hutchinson.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with a wake service at 7:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at St. Gerard Catholic Church located at 240 W. Robb St. Lima, Ohio 45801 with the Rev. Jim Szobonya officiating.
Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
