Phyllis Bruno

PHYLLIS J. BRUNO, 78, died at 7 a.m. Feb. 24, 2007, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 11, 1928, in Lima to John and Hazel Truex Phillips, who preceded her in death. In 1947, she married William "Bill" Bruno, who died Oct. 5. 2003. Mrs. Bruno was a homemaker. She was a member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed decorating. Survivors include a son Michael (Arlene) Bruno, of Auburndale, Fla.; two daughters, Judith "Judy" Bruno, and Andrea (Mark) Lutz, both of Lima; a son, Blase (Stephanie) Bruno, of Dublin; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Verna Courtney, of Cridersville. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, Edgar, Albert and Donald Phillips; and two sisters, Ruth Truesdale and Fairy Stratton. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Martin Moyer will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Sugar Creek Building Fund.
