71, passed away at 1:58 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, in Lima, Ohio.
Phyllis was born on Saturday, November 13, 1943, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William (Bill) Howard and Marjorie Pauline "Polly" (Tuttle) Hefner. On Saturday, August 06, 1966, she married Delbert "Dale" "Tink" Cockerell who preceded her in death.
Phyllis retired as a cook from the Allen County Sheriff's Department. She was a fun loving person and was in the height of her life when she was with her children and grandchildren. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School, Class of 1961.
She is survived by: sons, William C. "Bill" (Julie) Cockerell, Wapakoneta, OH and Dale L. (Vonda) Cockerell, Alger, OH; daughter, Brenda (Brian) Winegardner, Harrod, OH; eight grandchildren, Joshua Cockerell, Morgan (Levi) Hoy, Madison Winegardner, Jared Cockerell, Jacob Cockerell, Gage Perkins, Colten Perkins and Anslie Cockerell; brother, James H. (Marlene) Hefner, Lima, OH; sisters, Nancy (Tim) Miller, Spencerville, OH, and Pamela (Richard) Feldner, Lima, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 02, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 03, 2015 at First Assembly of God, 1660 Findlay Rd., Lima, OH. Pastor Keith Wilson will officiate.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
