Phyllis Ann Hermanson 88, died at 9:14 a.m. February 2, 2010, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born November 20, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York, to Abraham Horton and Naomi Davenport Barr, who preceded her in death. On August 23, 1947, she married Roy Hermanson, who died in July 1992. Mrs. Hermanson retired in 1982 from Sprint Telephone Co. She then worked at the Allen County Museum until 2001. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo and made afghans for several people. She loved to sew and dance and will be remembered for many things. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Weber, of Lima, Ohio; a son, Lee Hermanson, of Colorado; two grandchildren, Shannon (Juan) Marval, of Chicago, and Ryan (Karrie Basinger) Weber, of Lima, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Jasmine Marval and Bryce Marval. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerbert Darlington will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice. Condolences may be expressed at www.chamberlainhuckeriede.com.
