- Ralph B. Snider, 79, died at 9:57 p.m. August 8, 2009, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1930 in Allen County Ralph and Velma (Gross) Snider-Fenton, who preceded him in death. On June 23, 1956 he married Dorothy Howard Snider who survives in Lima. Mr. Snider retired from Ford Motor Company in Lima in December 1999. He was a member of South Side Christian Church. He was a US Army Veteran. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Tiger Woods but loved watching his four grandsons play ball for Lima Senior and Lima Central Catholic High Schools the very most. His hobbies were bowling, fishing and word search puzzles. He enjoyed eating out on Saturday nights with his entire family at Casa Lu Al. Family was a very important part of Ralph?s life and he was a very important part of his family?s life. He will be greatly missed by all of them. Survivors also include a son, William (Peggy) Snider, of Lima; a daughter, Cheryl (Terry) Hawk, of Lima; four grandchildren, Tyler Wade Hawk, Weston Howard Hawk, Andrew William Snider and Michael Joseph Snider; three sisters-in-law, Joan Howard, of Lima, Barbara Howard, of Cincinnati, and Mary Jane Marquis, of Venice, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Verlin Aurand and a mother- and father-in-law, Art and Ronda Howard. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at South Side Christian Church with a graveside service by VFW Post 1275, Lima. Wanda Werking will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
