Ramon Moritz

Ramon N. "Ray" Moritz, 79 of La Fayette, Ohio died on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio. Born Wednesday, February 26, 1930 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Faye Moritz and the late Kathryn Neu Moritz. On April 22, 1961, he married Mary M. Rigali. She survives in La Fayette. Mr. Moritz retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lima, Ohio after 35 years. He married Mary M. Rigali on April 22, 1961 in St. John's Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio. He was a Graduate of Ohio Northern University. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was in the 1st Marine Division Fleet Marine Force. He was a member of the VFW Post 1275 of Lima. He was a former Youth Sports Coach. He was an avid gardener, and loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. Surviving are sons, Dave (Kim) Moritz of Lima, OH and Joel (Traci) Moritz of Lima, OH, daughters, Christina Moritz of Harrod, OH and Milissa (Travis) Phillips of Harrod, OH, brothers, Donald (Jean) Moritz of Lima, OH and Larry (Suzan) Moritz of Florida; sisters, Susan (Jaye) Bumbaugh of Lima, OH and Debbie (Paul) Riepenhoff of Lima, OH. He was predeceased by brother, Myron Moritz. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio with the Rev. Joseph Rigali, OFM officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery with military rites by V.F.W.
