Ray K. Woodruff

Ray K. Woodruff, 69, died at 8:21 a.m. November 18, 2017 in Westerville, OH.
He was born May 2, 1948 in North Wilkesboro, NC. to Arthur (deceased) and Mary Woodruff, who survives in Harrod, OH. On July 6, 1968, he married Linda Lee Dessenberg, who survives in Lima.
Ray worked as a sprinkler fitter out of the pipefitter union hall before joining Ford Motor Co. He retired from Ford in 2006 after working 30 years as a pipefitter. Ray was a member of North Park Community Church where he served in many capacities to help as needs arose. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, stationed at the Clark Air Force Base, Philippines, Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota and at the Osan Air Force Base, South Korea. He served from 1967 to 1971.
Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout the seasons while also making the trip to Florida during the winter to have more time fishing as well as spend more time with his wife and mother. During the summer, he spent time assisting a group from Ford Motor Co. who assemble handicap ramps and steps for those in need around the community.
Survivors also include three children, Barbara A. (Darin) Dunlap, of Columbus Grove, Mary A. (Dickie) McKeever, of Waynesfield and Arthur J. (Stephanie) Woodruff, of Larwill, IN. Grandchildren are Kaityln, Kassidy, Gracee, Ellee, Ethan, Megan, Emma, Jolie, Caleb, Cohen, Silas, Addilyn and Thaddeus. He is also survived by six siblings, Janie S. (John) Nichelson, Robert C. (Denise) Woodruff, Carolyn L. (Charlie) Hensley, Van E. (Lisa) Woodruff, James A. (Robin) Woodruff, Julie M. (David) Ciminillo, and his many nieces and nephews.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. at North Park Community Church. The church is located at 1321 E Elm St. where Jim Baker will officiate. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery, Sugar Creek Road. Military rites will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at North Park Community Church and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
