RAYMOND NOBLE "RAY" JOHNSTON, 63, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Lima, died at 5:10 p.m. Dec. 31, 2006, at Tidewell Hospice House of Southwest Florida. He was born April 18, 1942, in Mansfield to Gratton and Rose Quinn Johnston, who preceded him in death. On April 13, 1984, he married Connie J. Moyer, who survives in Sarasota, Fla. Mr. Johnston was owner of Thomas D. Quinn Inc. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and the Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and St. Joseph College and received his master's degree from the University of Dayton. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors also include a son, Drew (Tricia) Johnston of Sylvania; a daughter, Heather (Bob) Johns of Lima; a stepson, Kevin Bucher of Summerville, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Haley Bucher of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Judy VanderWeele of Lima; and three grandchildren, Sydney Raye Johnston of Sylvania and Clay Bucher and Mason Bucher, both of Summerville, S.C. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Adam and Eric Bucher. A memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. David Ritchie will officiate. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a eulogy service will be held at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
