Reba Seward

REBA E. SEWARD, 86, died at 8:12 p.m. March 31, 2006, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 18, 1919, in Blanchard to Ora and Bertha Clevenger McBride, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 30, 1944, she married Carroll M. Seward, who survives in Lima. Mrs. Seward had taught practical nursing at Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and at Apollo Vocational School. She was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church. She was a member of Teamsters Retirees Local 908. She was a graduate of Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Survivors also include two daughters, Mary Lee (Rick) Akins of Rocklin, Calif., and Ellen (Rick) Hire of Belle Center; a son, Edward (Janet) Seward of Lima; seven grandchildren, Marc Baxter, Brad (Amie) Baxter, Andrew (Dana) Hire, Aaron Seward, Karis (Sean) Thines, Heidi Seward and Collin Seward; two stepgrandchildren, Sarah Akins and Scott Akins; and three great-grandchildren, Joey Baxter, Lily Baxter and Ethan Hire. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Don Sadler will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice, 770 W.
