Reed Aaron Blair,
84 of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, April 27, 2012, at 3:35 A.M. at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.
Born Friday, August 26, 1927 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold Blair and the late Bessie Overfield Blair. On December 22, 1951 he married Normalee Jordan, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2004.
He was a graduate of Lima South High School and was employed by B. P. Oil Company (Lima Refinery).
He served as a Seaman 2nd Class in the Navy from 1945 until 1946 and a Veteran of World War II.
Mr. Blair was a graduate of South High School, Lima, Ohio. He had worked at BP Oil (Lima Refinery) as a Crane Operator for 40 years. He was a member of the First Evangelical and Reform Church in Lima, Ohio. He was a member of Garrett Wycoff Lodge 585, F. & A. M., where he had served as Worshipful Master. He was also a plural member of Lima Lodge No. 205 F. & A. M. He was a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton (32 Degree). He was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a member of the VFW Post 1275, Lima. He enjoyed all Masonic Lodge functions and putting picture puzzles together. He loved Caffeine Free Diet Coke and enjoyed Pinnacle, Euchar, and Bingo.
Surviving is: a son, Jeffery H. (Traci) Blair of Lima, OH.; a daughter, Holly (Daniel) Watters of Lima, OH; two grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth (Andrew) Gall of Lima, Ohio, and Adam Dale (Jennifer) Watters of Lima, Ohio; two step grandchildren, Tori Lynn (Robert Freuh) of Lima, Ohio and Michael Jerred (Sadie Thomas) Decker of Lima, Ohio; one great grandson, Jordan J. Watters; four step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Ross Blair and Floyd Blair; and three sisters, Grace Basinger, Erdene Workman and Imogene Foster.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Masonic Services will be held at 8 P.M., followed by a Scottish Rite Ring Service. There will also be visitation on Monday, April 30, 2012, one hour prior to the services from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30th at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Rhinehart officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH. Military graveside honors will be conducted.
