Richard Marker

RICHARD E. MARKER, 78, died at 4:35 a.m. October 27, 2005, at the Lima Convalescent Home. He was born November 18, 1926, in Lima, Ohio to Robert and Esther Casey Marker, who preceded him in death. On January 22, 1949, he married Patricia A. Hooker, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Marker retired in 1992 from General Dynamics and had worked at Sheller Globe for 30 years. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and had served as president and as a board member to the Lima Superior Federal Community Credit Union. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors also include a son, Tim (Rita) Marker of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Ann (Steve) Wenger of Lima, Ohio, Ellen (Jon) Quatman of Edgewood, Kentucky, and Lynne (Bob) Musto of Powell; seven brothers, Robert Marker, John Marker, Warren "Mike" Marker and Larry Marker, all of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Ted Marker of Rocky Mount, N.Carolina, George Marker of Melbourne, Florida, and Thomas Marker of Howell, N.Jersey; four sisters, Suzanne Stout of Foley, Alabama, Joan Gehr of Lima, Ohio, Meredith Ludeke of St. Mary?s, Ohio and Joyce Smith of Lima, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren, Timothy Long, Patrick Marker, Kevin Quatman, Daniel Marker, Dominic Musto, Joseph Musto, Monica Gleed, Stacy Long, Elizabeth Quatman and Allison Musto. He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin "Hank" Marker; and two sisters, Shirley Hern and Janice Roth. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Lacey will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Association or St. Gerard School Tuition Fund.
