Richard "Dick" Peggs

Richard E. "Dick" Peggs,
86 of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, December 30, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Tuesday, August 18, 1925 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles E. Peggs and Ruth (Dumm) Peggs. .
On December 6, 1946, he married Virginia R. Shine who died August 1979. He later married Carol Joan Darbyshire on March 12, 1982; she passed away on March 13, 2008. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII on Okinawa, Ryukus Islands, as well as during the Occupation of Japan. Richard graduated from Bluffton College in 1950. He retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant after 30 years of service as a Quality Control Manager. He was an avid golfer and member of Lost Creek Country Club. He was a past member of the Salvation Army where he served as the Treasurer, Lima Section of the American Society of Quality Control where he served as chairman, and Knights of Pythias where he served as commander. He is a member of Crossroads Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Jerry) Lovett of Lima, Ohio, Deb (Rick) Camper of Lima, Ohio, and a son Dan (Sue) Peggs of St. Louis, MO; 4 step daughters, Linda (Gary) Kerr of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Diane (Mike) Tomlinson of Lima, Ohio, Debra (Mitch) Sadler of Ada, Ohio and Lori (Jim) Van de Veire of Atlanta, Georgia, and 18 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter Linda Peggs and a brother, Robert E. (Peggy) Peggs.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 2, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bargerstock officiating.
Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Lima, OH.
