Richard Preble

RICHARD L. PREBLE, 73, died at 8:55 p.m. November 5, 2006, at his residence. He was born December 25, 1932, in Lima, Ohio to Claude and Cleo Antrim Preble, who preceded him in death. On November 3, 1956, he married Therese L. Minaugh, who died June 6, 2004. Mr. Preble had been a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Lima, Elida and Cridersville. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio, and its St. Vincent DePaul Society, where he served as treasure. He was a 1950 graduate of Lima South High School. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from October 10, 1950, to September 30, 1954. He spent his life in service of others and serving the Lord. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a friend of many. Survivors include four daughters, Laura (Chris) Preble-Klich, of San Diego, California, Linda (Mark) Boyed, of Columbus, Ohio, Barb (Scott) Lovett, of Lima, Ohio, and Ann Preble, of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Judy Goodman and Sundra (Danny) Critchfield, both of Lima, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Darrin Preble, Connor Boyed, Austin Klich, Noel Klich, Reed Lovett and Emily Lovett. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Risner; and infant grandson, Neil Alan Bucholz; and an infant son, Richard Preble Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at St. John Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio. Father William J. Rose will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 692 S.
