Richard L. Rapp

81, died at 8:13 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

Richard was born on August 11, 1936, in Mt. Victory, Ohio, to the late Marion  Rapp  and Mary Jane (Wright)  Rapp.  On October 13, 1956, he married Faith  (Blumenschine) Rapp, she survives in Lima.

Dick was co-owner and President of Gasdorf Tool & Machine for 44 years. After selling the business in 2016, he continued to be an active employee at the company. He served in the United States Army for 1959 to 1961.  He was an active member of the First Evangelical & Reformed Church and served as a Deacon and Trustee. He was active on numerous boards and committees throughout the years. He had been a licensed pilot. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time in Florida with family and friends and his final words to them were "Be Happy."

He is survived  by daughter, Shannon Rapp, of Lima, OH; his brother, Thomas (Vicki) Rapp, of Bellefontaine, OH and a sister, Cynthia (Steve) Dorsey, of Urbana, OH.

He was preceded in death by brother, Ronn Rapp and sister, Lorna Brown.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, before the funeral.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on  Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the First Evangelical & Reformed Church, 320 W. Wayne, Lima, Ohio 45801. Rev. Larry Blunden will officiate.

Interment will be in Grove Cemetery, Kenton, Ohio.
