RICHARD J ROLLER, 71, died at 7 a.m. July 31, 2006, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland. He was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Mendon to Richard Mark and Mary Nelva Snyder Roller, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 25, 1956, he married Theresa Winkler, who survives in Lima. Mr. Roller was self-employed as a franchise owner of the American Poolplayers Association since 1989, where he was also a member. He had also owned the Saratoga Cigar Store in Town Square from 1973 to 1997. He had been a Scout master and Cub master of Pack 47. He had served as president of the Catholic Youth Organization of Lima, where he coached youth baseball and basketball. He had been a volunteer for Lima Central Catholic High School sporting events. He supported all of his children and grandchildren in their activities at St. Gerard School. He was a tremendous supporter of the game of pool and an avid player, who enjoyed the many friends he met through the sport. He also enjoyed playing cards and hosting late-night poker games. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and was a season-ticket holder. He shared his love of baseball with his children and grandchildren, taking many of them to the games. Survivors also include three sons, Jeff (Kathy) Roller of Parma, Jamie (Sandy) Roller of Kalida and Jerry Roller of Delaware; a daughter, Jodi (David) Kemmis of Middleburg Heights; a sister, Jennie (Nelson) Shultis of Forest; and nine grandchildren, Nicole Kemmis, Jaylene Kemmis, Jeramie Roller, Stephanie Roller, Kelly Roller, Krystal Roller, Boomer Roller, Maria Kemmis and Paige Roller. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Steven Umphress will officiate. Burial will be in Hueston Cemetery, Forest. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
