56, died at 5:40 a.m., January 9, 2015, at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
Richard was born July 12, 1958 in Lima, Ohio, to Paul E. and Helen M. (Driver) Scholfield, his father preceded him in death. Helen survives in Lima.
Richard was a technician at the government Water Treatment Plant, in Allen County. He was an avid sprint car fan, and loved spending many a Friday night at the Allentown Race Way.
He is survived by 3 siblings Cathy (Ralph) Knauer, of West Chester, Ohio, Mike (Lynn) Scholfield, of Lima, Ohio, and Debi Scholfield, Columbus, Ohio; a nephew Brett Knauer; 3 nieces Jodi, Jen, and Lori; numerous cousins; and two children from a former marriage, Eric Diller, and Jessica Scholfield.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice, or the American Diabetes Association.
