Richard C. Stotts Sr. 60, died at 6:15 a.m. January 23, 2008, at St. Rita?s Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Ottawa, from a massive heart attack. He was born August 15, 1947, in Lima, Ohio to Wilbur C. Stotts and Victoria Jones Stotts Armentrout. His father preceded him in death. His mother and stepfather, Franklin Armentrout, survive in Lima, Ohio. His stepmother, Donna Stotts, survives in Lima, Ohio. He had been married to Chong Kim, who survives in North Carolina. On June 22, 2002, he married Jackie Blevins, who survives in Ottawa, Ohio. Mr. Stotts was a product availability manager for Pepsi Cola and an adjunct instructor at the University of Northwestern Ohio, both in Lima, Ohio. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9648, Columbus Grove, Ohio. He was a graduate of Tiffin University. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from September 28, 1966, to September 15, 1970, with the 504th Military Police. He was in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, where his duties involved highway security from the Hy Van Pass to Phu Bai Hue. He enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas with his family, attending his grandchildren?s sporting events and supporting The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Survivors also include two sons, Richard C. Stotts Jr., of Lima, Ohio, and Kevin J. (Birdella) Stotts, of Harrod, Ohio; five stepchildren, Robin Black, of Ada, Ohio, Rhonda (Christopher) Fortman, of Columbus Grove, Ohio, Gary (Michelle) Blevins, of Ottawa, Ohio, Daneda (Matthew) Jordan, of Cridersville, Ohio, and Robbie Blevins, of Ottawa, Ohio; a step-son-in-law, Jeff Osting, of Glandorf, Ohio; two sisters, Rosemary (Rollie) Benedum and Nancy (Phillip) Waltz, both of Lima, Ohio; his step grandmother, Nora Hartley, of Lima, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren, Lauren, Jonathon, Alexis, Cole, Blake, Brennen, Dalton, Abby, Aidan, Makayla and Landen. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Peggy Osting; and three brothers, Denve Stotts, Wilbur Stotts and Robert Stotts. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
