Rita Hesler

RITA M. HESLER, 87, died at 8:45 a.m. April 19, 2007, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 11, 1919, in Landeck, Ohio to Richard and Cordelia Hotz Haunhorst, who preceded her in death. She had been married to George Bracker, whom she married in 1939. On September 29, 1978, she married Frank F. Hesler, who died December 2, 2006. Mrs. Hesler had been a clerk at Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a member of Lost Creek Country Club. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and traveling. She was a good friend to all. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Bowersock, of Lima, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Craig, of Elida, Ohio; a stepson, John (Lynda) Hesler, of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Eugene (Marcella) Haunhorst, of Van Lear, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Edna Haunhorst; nine grandchildren, Kecia (David) Brady, of Brighton, Michigan, Andrew (Tammy) Bowersock, of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Heather (Travis) Harter and Doug Craig, both of Lima, Ohio, Danny (Lydia) Craig, of Akron, Jennifer (Michael) Jones, of Charleston, S.Carolina, and Sarah (James) Stover, Rachel Hesler and Laura Hesler, all of Lima, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, David Bracker, who died in the Vietnam War; a sister, Velma Johnson; and three brothers, Urban Haunhorst, Carl Haunhorst and Leo Haunhorst. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Father Thomas Gorman will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Landeck, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
