Rita Langmeyer

Rita M. Langmeyer, 88, died at 10:30 a.m. July 5, 2010, at Baton Rouge Senior Health Facility, Lima, Ohio. She was born May 14, 1922, in Delphos, Ohio to Peter Anthony and Mary E. Barlage Warnecke, who preceded her in death. On February 17, 1942, in Delphos, Ohio she married Eugene E. Langmeyer, who died September 1, 1980.Mrs. Langmeyer was a graduate of Delphos St. John?s High School. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio. She worked at Artex for 12 years and Time Cleaners for seven years. She retired in 1988. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, reading and cake decorating for family and friends. She loved spending time with all her family, especially baby-sitting for her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Ronald P. (Roberta) Langmeyer and Gerald E. (Tess) Langmeyer, both of Lima, Ohio, and Daniel A. (Gloria) Langmeyer, of Venedocia; two daughters, Judith M. (Pat) Ryan, of Harrod. Ohio, and Katherine A. Stoody, of Elida, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Louis Warnecke, Paul Warnecke, Alex Warnecke and Alphonse Warnecke; four sisters, Florentine Klausing, Emma Bockey, Margaret Buettner and Bertha Klefas; and a son-in-law, Herb Stoody. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lima. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, where a wake service will begin at 8 p.m. today.
