96 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:15 A.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio
Born Tuesday, September 28, 1915 in Ostrander, Ohio, to Fern and Marjorie (Cratty) Anderson who preceded her in death. On June 1, 1955 she married Richard H. Mavis who survives.
Mrs. Mavis was a graduate of Van Wert High School, Van Wert, Ohio. She retired in 1974 after working 18 years as an Instructor at the Marimor School for the Mentally Handicapped in Lima, Ohio. She was a member of the South Side Christian Church, Lima, Ohio and she and her husband were residents of The Primrose Retirement Community.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Kay (Ronald) Thomas of Fairfax Station, VA; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas of Elizabethtown, KY, and Lori (Martin) Kelly of Purcellville, VA.; and three great grandchildren, Ashlinn, Laurence and Fintan Kelly; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Ralph Anderson, Denzel Anderson, Robert Anderson and Richard Anderson.
Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Adams and Wanda Werking officiating.
Visiting hours are Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. .
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. .
