Rita Anne Moyer

Rita Anne Moyer, 95, passed away at 5:54 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, at The Springs of Lima.

Rita was born on June 2, 1925, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Joseph L. and Barbara (Hock) Devlin.  On June 19, 1948, she married Thomas E. Moyer, who preceded her in death.

Rita was a graduate of St. Rose High School.  She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, St. Gerard Altar Society, and served on various committees at St. Gerard.  She was a former president of Allen County Right to Life and served on the Right to Life Political Action Committee.  She also helped at Heartbeat of Lima, the local Republican Party, the Neighborhood Watch Program, and volunteered at St. Rita’s Medical Center and their Thrift Store.

She is survived by four daughters: Connie Coon of Lima, Mary Beth (Dennis) Miller of Lima, Fran (Steve) Mansfield of Lima, and Ann (Doug) Cross of Lima; two sons: Michael (Carol) Moyer of Port Charlotte, FL and Joseph (Becky) Moyer of Knoxville, TN; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas (Marikay) Devlin of Lebanon, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Mark Thompson, son-in-law, Greg Coon; and great-grandson, James M. Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, followed by a Parish Wake service.   The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at St. Gerard Catholic Church.  Father David Ross will officiate.  Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church, Heartbeat of Lima, Right to Life, or St. Rita’s Hospice.
