Rita J. Ross,

84, died at 1:44 AM on Friday, May 4, 2018, at her residence in Lima, Ohio.

Rita was born on February 15, 1934, in Lima, to the late Oliver and Margaret (Crumrine) Moyer.  On October 5, 1962, she married   Richard Ross who preceded her in death on October 6, 1962.

Rita was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. She retired from St. Rita's Medical Center after 34 years as a Nurse’s Aide and Housekeeper. Rita touched so many lives by being the caring and loving person she was. She was loved and adored by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by a companion, Darrel Miller; daughters, Lisa (Chad) Hittle and Becky (Pete) Rypkema; grandchildren, Robert (Betsy) Patterson II, Becky Patterson and Justin Rypkema; step-granddaughters, Mercediez and Meaghan Hittle; great-grandchildren, Tréy, Ayla, Isaiah and Karleigh; step-great-grandchildren, Maddy and Zoey and a brother, James (Judy) Moyer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Patterson; sisters, Nancy Talley, Kathleen Moyer, Barb Fenton and Mary Louise Spallinger and a brother, Tom Moyer.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio.  Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice and Interim Health Care.
