Rita WIMER

RITA D. WIMER, 64, died at 12:23 p.m. Aug. 6, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born Feb. 23, 1942, in Lima to Nead and Lillian Barnette Crowe, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 14, 1979, she married John Clayton Wimer Sr., who survives in Harrod. Mrs. Wimer was a homemaker. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199, the American Legion Auxiliary and the AMVETS Auxiliary. Survivors also include nine children, Keith (Mary) Horton of Ottawa, James (Lynnette) Horton of Seffner, Fla., Darlene Ray of Ohio City, Karen Plumb and Laura (Derek Watkins) Hughes, both of Lima, John C. Wimer Jr. of Kentucky, Theresa Bowers of Rimer, Maurice Wimer of Lima and Renelda (Terry) Holloway of Harrod; nine grandchildren, Leesa (Jonny) Demoss, Chasity Wimer, Julie Horton, Michael (Erica) Messick, Austin Plumb, Kristin Messick, Elizabeth Wimer, Christina Holloway and Mathew Hughes; 12 great-grandchildren, Kassandra and Elizabeth Demoss, Destiny, Drake, Jordon, Eddie and Kylie Middlemiss, Kaila and Jacquelynn James, Lonnie Ear Jr., and Mackenna and Jeffrey Bulock; and four siblings, Elmer Crowe of Lima, Ruth Sheets and Dave Crowe, both of Cridersville, and Elsie Bowden of Lima. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lavonda "Bonnie" Wimer; and five siblings, Roy, Jean, John and Herb Crowe and Rose Parente. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Chaplain Richard Coon will officiate. Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette.
