55 of Fort Jennings, Ohio died on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio in Lima, Ohio.
Born Friday, July 8, 1955 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of Robert Whitacre and Dolores Keiffer Whitacre.
Mr. Whitacre had worked for Dominion Gas Company for over 25 years. He was 1973 Graduate of Elida High School. He was a member of Eagles of Delphos and a former member of the American Legion Ft. Jennings. He was an avid Ohio State and Pittsburg Steelers Fan.
Surviving are son, Bobby Whitacre of Ottoville, OH, daughter, Nicole Grothouse of Ft. Jennings, OH, four grandchildren, Dylan Eldridge, Paige Grothouse, Payton Grothouse, Gretchen Whitacre, brothers, David (Julie) Whitacre of Dickinson, TX, Daniel Whitacre of Lima, OH and John Whitacre of Lima, OH, sisters, Constance (Donald) Shutt of Lima, OH, Kathleen (Nicholas) Krites of Lima, OH and Patricia (Barry) Whaley of West LaFayette, IN.
He was predeceased by brother, Michael J. Whitacre.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Blum officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
