ROBERT GLENN "BOB" CAREY, 74, of Bowden, Georgia, formerly of Lima, Ohio, died at 10 p.m. July 9, 2005, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. He was born May 12, 1931, in Rockcreek to Howard Lenol and Vera Esther Sawmiller Carey, who preceded him in death. Mr. Carey was a poultry farmer and had retired from Honeywell. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He had a dog named Vern, whom he loved dearly. Survivors include two sons, Robert Gregory Carey of Running Springs, California, and John Alan Carey of Palm Desert, California; a daughter, Rene Corrigan of Somerset, Massachusetts; a brother, Richard Dale (Penny) Carey of Long Beach, California; a sister, Caroline (Jim H.) Smith of Lima, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Carey. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. George Pirtle will officiate. Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
