Robert E. Davis,
84, of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 12:37 p.m. at Richland Manor in Bluffton, Ohio.
Born October 23, 1928 in Paulding County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dale W. Davis and the late Ruby D. (Ritchie) Davis.
Mr. Davis married Ethel Amspaugh on June 25, 1950, in Payne, Ohio. They were married for 62 1/2 years. She survives in Lima. He retired after 30 years from the Ford Motor Company. He served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1955. He had previously worked at Pangles Markets. He enjoyed gardening, target shooting, and loved camping with the family. He loved vacations each summer. He enjoyed videos, especially old westerns.
Surviving are: two sons, Steve (Pat) Davis of Lima, OH and David (Elaine) Davis of Palmyra, PA; three daughters, Ellen (Bill) Johnson of Beattyville, KY, Lisa (Phillip Rinehart) Davis of Lima, OH and Concepcion Davis of Marrero, LA; Fourteen grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren; special friends, Ralph & Cathy Whetsel and Rick and Beth Bracy.
He was preceded in death by: a son, Michael Paul Davis; a daughter-in-law Christine and a granddaughter, Noel Lynette.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Pastor James Neighbors officiating.
Interment will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio, with a graveside military service conducted by the United States Army.
