Robert Dieringer,
91, of Social Circle, Georgia and formerly of Lima, Ohio, died on Monday, February 20, 2012, at 4:14 A.M. at home.
Born Friday, June 25, 1920 in St. Marys, OH, he was the son of the late Frank Dieringer and the late Minnie Wieser Dieringer.
Robert married Gladys Louise Hundley on August 1, 1946; she preceded him in death on December 11, 1996. They had been married for 50 years. He was a WWII veteran serving with the US Army from November 14, 1941 to October 14, 1945. After he returned to St. Marys, he worked for Goodyear Rubber Co. before retiring after 39 years.
He and Gladys moved to Lima in 1987, where he lived until moving to Georgia in 2006. He had been a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys: St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima, OH; and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Covington, GA. . A 24-gallon blood donor, Robert was active with the American Red Cross.
Surviving are: sons, Rick Dieringer of Cincinnati, OH, Dennis (Joyce) Dieringer of Social Circle, GA and Tadd (Anita) Dieringer of Franklin, OH; three grandchildren, Andrea Dieringer Sorrow, Aaron Dieringer and Danny Dieringer; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are: brothers, Lawrence (Joan) Dieringer of St. Marys, OH and James (Beverly) Dieringer of St. Marys, OH; and a sister, Sister Pat Dieringer of Dayton, OH.
Preceding him death were a brother, William Dieringer and a sister, Rose Agnes Zigenfelder.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Dieringer officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens, St. Marys, OH.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2012, at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 N. Cable Road, Lima, OH.
