Robert P. Jones III,

88, passed away at 8:55 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

Robert was born on Sunday, July 3, 1927, in Lima, to the late Robert "Perry" and Pauline (Schimpf) Jones II. On Sunday, October 14, 1951, he married Audrey Shrider who survives him.

Robert served in the Air force following World War II. He retired from WLIO TV after 37 years as their Business Manager. He was an active member of the Builders Class at First Evangelical & Reformed Church. He also served as Deacon, Elder, Choir Member, and Treasurer for 27 years. His public service also included Junior Achievement, Cubmaster for Harrod Pack #52, Kiwanis and volunteering at Lima Memorial Hospital.. Robert loved camping trips with his family and was an avid gardener.

He is survived by: a daughter, Melanie (Mark) Biedenharn of Elida; three sons, Jeffrey (Kathy) Jones of Pickerington, OH, Kevin (Susan) Jones, Erie, PA and Darrell (Sean) Jones, Portland, OR; five grandchildren, Leslie (Mike) Jungbluth, Benjamin Jones, Stephanie (Robert) Moeller, Kelly Biedenharn and Eric Biedenharn and a brother, Roger (Sara) Jones of Harrod.

He is preceded in death by a sister,Catherine Hutson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday May 8, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Monday.

A funeral service will be 11:00 on Monday, May 9, 2016 at First Evangelical & Reformed Church in Lima, Ohio. Rev. Dr. David Balicki will officiate. Interment will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio.
