Robert Lauber

Robert L. Lauber, 82, died at 5:40 p.m. April 2, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born April 17, 1925, in Coldwater, Ohio to August and Lulu Dardio Lauber, who preceded him in death. On April 9, 1950, he married Beth Kiggins, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Lauber retired as an agent and staff manager from Prudential Life Insurance Co., after 30 years. He was a 50-year member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a life member of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54. He was a graduate of Coldwater High School, Coldwater, and Miami-Jacobs Business College, Dayton. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 3rd Infantry Division in the European Theater, where he received four Bronze Stars. Survivors also include a son, Scott Robert (Trois) Lauber, of Powell, Ohio; a daughter, Lynn Lauber, of Nyack, New York; three grandchildren, Brandon Lauber and Ashley Lauber, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Becky Denton, of Springfield, Missouri; a great-grandchild, Taylor Denton, of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth Lauber, of Centerville, Ohio; and a sister, Betty Volz, of Fullerton, California He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Lauber, William Lauber and Myles Lauber; and two sisters, Alvena Chapin and Eileen Dilley. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. The Rev. David Harris will officiate. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.
