Robert Nolan

Robert L. Nolan, 72, died at 8 a.m. Jan. 20, 2009, at his residence. He was born April 29, 1936, in Lima to Wilford and Mabel Weinmann Nolan, who preceded him in death. On March 5, 1984, he married Starlie J. Burkholder-Starr, who survives in Lima. Mr. Nolan retired as a maintenance supervisor from Lima Manor Nursing Home. He had also worked at Clark Equipment and Fruehauf. He was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving from Aug. 4, 1954, to Aug. 3, 1957. Survivors also include a son, Derrick Paul Starr, of Las Cruses, N.M.; four daughters, Ettalee Calvert and Roberta Nolan, both of Indiana, Dr. Denise Deborah Starr, of Dayton, and Beth Ann Ring, of Columbus; five grandchildren; a sister, Martha (Jack) Burklo, of Lima; and a brother, Logan (Mildred) Nolan, of Lima. Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Joseph Nolan will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
