Robert A. Rable, 79, died at 10:34 p.m. March 7, 2008, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1929, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Linus and Alvina Karback Rable, who preceded him in death. On October 20, 1956, he married Teresa Wehri, who died April 17, 2004. Mr. Rable was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. He loved to golf and to play cards. He retired after 38? years at Randall Bearings in Lima, Ohio as a machinist/inspector. He served in the Army from October 1, 1954, to December 1, 1954. Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Brian) Leathers, of Van Wert, Ohio; a brother, Paul (Carol) Rable, of Lima, Ohio; two grandchildren, David Leathers, of Van Wert, Ohio, and Stephen Leathers, of Van Wert, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Pat Rable, of Lima, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, John Rable, and Bill and Marge Rable. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. The Rev. James McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. today.
