Lima---Robert "Bob" Ringsmith, age 95, died peacefully at 4:15 p.m. on April 25, 2017, at the Wyngate with his daughter Beth at his side. He was born in Ferndale, Michigan, on September 17, 1921. On April 28, 1945, he married Alice Gene Hein who died on December 12, 2014.
Bob graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, as an electrical engineer and immediately entered into the service of the United States Navy where he served during World War II as a second lieutenant in Washington, DC. He also served in DC during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Taylor-Winfield Corporation in Warren, Ohio, retiring in 1982.
Bob is survived by his three daughters, Beth (Dick) Arheit McCarty of Lima, Ohio; Pamela Ringsmith of Stillwater, Minnesota, and Beverly (David) Shaffer of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Robert was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Lima. A memorial service will take place at a later date. He will be interred at Crown Hill Cemetery, Vienna, Ohio
