Robert Charles Ross, 85 of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 2:20 p.m. at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Born Wednesday, January 5, 1927 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl W. Ross and the late Virginia Peck Ross.
Mr. Ross married Mary Anne Nash on July 24, 1948 in Lima, Ohio. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2010. He retired from the United States Post Office on March 28, 1982. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 54, Lima, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie 370, Moose Lodge #199, a life member of the VFW Post 1275, and Hawthorne Hills Country Club. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946. He received the Victory Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and the American Area Ribbon. He was an avid golfer and loved to hunt and fish. He had an unbelievable sense of humor, an intense Christian faith and love for his family and his home parish of St. Gerard.
Surviving are sons: Father David Ross of Lima, OH, Jack (Cindy) Ross of Chicago, IL, Dennis (Jan) Ross of N. Canton, OH and Dr. Stephen (Amy) Ross of Roanoke, IN; seven grandchildren, Julie, Jon, Alyssa, Christian, Olivia, Isabella, and Noah; sister, Betsy Agozzino of Lima, OH.
He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas Ross and Jack Ross and a sister Suzanne Ross.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with a wake service at 8:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Gerard Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 with Father David M. Ross officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
