Robert H. "Bolt Man" Terrell, 84, died at 1:09 p.m. May 27, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born March 13, 1927, in Bellefontaine to Lennon C. and Harriet R. Burden Terrell, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 10, 1951, he married Mariam "Pat" Patrick, who survives.
Mr. Terrell was an Army veteran of World War II and Korea and graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo., with a BS in economics. After working for Sohigro/Vistron in Lima, he started R.H. Terrell Distributors, which he ran successfully for 40 years, He was a respected member of New Creation Lutheran Church and formerly Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a former master of West Liberty Masonic Lodge 61, the Masonic High 12 Club and an officer of Hogge Creek Toastmasters.
Survivors also include a son, David L. (Kim Martin) Terrell, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Dr. Ava Firth, of Glasgow, Scotland; two grandsons, Alastair W. Firth and David M. Terrell, both of Boston; a granddaughter, Marlene Terrell, of Raleigh, N.C.; two stepgrandchildren, Vida L. Noffsinger and Martin Noffsinger, both of Indianapolis; and a great-grandson, Nathan A. Redder, of Raleigh, N.C.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Alan Firth; a brother, Eugene Terrell; and a sister, Margaret Terrell Harpest.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Creation Lutheran Church. Pastor Samuel Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Creations Lutheran Church of the charity of the donor's choice.
