84, died at 11:04 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Robert was born on March 30, 1929, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Lowell B. Wolford and Vernie [Golliff] Wolford.
Mr. Wolford married Shirley Gross on November 8, 1953. She survives in Lima. He was a surveyor with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 32 years. He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he served on their board, coached their softball team, and was their Scoutmaster of Troop 6 at the church. He served in the Army with the 21st Regiment with the 24th Infantry Division and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service during the Korean War. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 1275; and Life Member of the Elks Lodge #54, Lima.
He is survived by: three daughters, Karen Wolford, of Dayton, OH, Joyce (Earl) Reives, of Troy, OH, and Kaye (Gerald) Lindeman, of Delphos, OH; seven grandchildren, Laura Foust, Bob Foust, Kim Foust, Jorian Johnson, Cassie (Fiance-Jordan Martin) Lindeman, Angie (Kevin) Klaus, Tim (Virginia) Lindeman; ten great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by: an infant son, James Wolford; and a brother, Richard Wolford.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 01, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. John Foster officiating.
Interment will be in Spencerville Cemetery with graveside military honors conducted by the VFW Post 1275.
