88, died at 2:16 PM on Monday, August 17, 2015, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.

Robert was born on May 14, 1927, in Celina, Ohio, to the late John Arron Woods and Audri Lois (Adams) Woods. On Monday, July 06, 1981, he married Florence Ethel (Franks) Woods. She survives in Lima.

Mr. Woods was a member of the Bluelick Bible Church. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #370, D.A.V. and the VFW Post 1275. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1946. He was a prisoner of war for 28 months. He then served in the Navy Reserves for 10 years. He retired from the B&O Railroad after 42 years as a Brakeman and Conductor.

He is survived by five daughters, Connie Carrier, of Lima, OH, Bonnie Smith, of Lima, OH, Linda (Gerald) Johnson, of Lima, OH, Cynthia Cunningham, of Lima, OH, Karen (Bob) Schneider, of Lexington, KY. also twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Michael, Steven and John A. Woods; a daughter, Christine Woods; brothers, John Charles and Eugene Woods ; four sisters, Thelma Woods, Regina Price, Geraldine Mosier and Ruth Keller.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday August 20, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Bluelick Bible Church. Pastor James Neighbors will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Graveside military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 1275
