Rodney W. Lutz,
70 of Lima, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012, 9:40 PM at his residence.
Born Sunday, April 19, 1942 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Rodney Lutz and the late Ester Dorothy (Wildermuth) Lutz.
Mr. Lutz married Vicki Lee Mawhorr on June 8, 1963. She survives in Lima. Mr. Lutz was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, ExCello Corporation and Rawls Inc. retired from Rawls Tire Service, Inc. after 28 years. Most recently he was the Building Manager at the Lima Masonic Center, Lima, Ohio since January 1, 1989. He was a member and twice Past Master of Fort Amanda Lodge 706 Free and Accepted Masons
He was a plural member and secretary of Garrett Wykoff Masonic Lodge #585 Free & Accepted Masons. A Past High Priest and Secretary of Lima Chapter No. 49 Royal Arch Masons. A Past III. Master and Recorder of Lima Council No. 20 Royal & Select Masons. A Past Commander and Recorder of Shawnee Commandery No. 14 Knights Templar. He was a Past Deputy Division Commander of the First Division of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio. A member of Ohio Priory No. 18 Knights of the York Cross of Honour. A Member of Masters High Twelve Club No. 590. A Past Watchman of Shepherds of Lima Shrine No. 20 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. A Member of Grove Chapter No. 527 Order of Eastern Stars. He was a Dual Member of Ivanhoe Commandery No. 54 and St. George Commandery No. 76 Knights Templar. A Past Preceptor of Prince of Peace Tabernacle No. X, Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priests. A Past Puissent Sovereign of Charlemagne Conclave Order of the Red Cross of Constantine, and was a Member The Fraternal Orders of Eagles, Aerie No 370 in Lima, Ohio.
Surviving are: a daughter, Patricia Michalene (Forrest) Askins of Lima, OH; three sons, Mark Christian (Andrea) Lutz of Lima, OH, Douglas Eugene (Tonya) Lutz of Ada, OH and Jeffrey Alan (Annette) Lutz of Lima, OH; ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren: a brother, David (Karen) Lutz of Botkins, OH; sister, Eleanor Brown of Lima, OH.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Commandery Honor Guard on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home with Masonic Services at 8:00 PM.
Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Cover officiating
