Roger "Gene" Conner

Roger Eugene "Gene" Conner, 88 of Monticello, Florida died on Friday, August 12, 2011, at Brynwood Nursing Center in Monticello, Florida.
Born September 6, 1922 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Homer Conner and the late Sadie Conner. He was the husband of the late Hazel V. Lowry Conner.
He married Hazel V. Lowry on September 21, 1947 in Lima, Ohio. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2002. He was self employed throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherrman. He was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple, and a member of NRA. He enjoyed going to gun shows and flea markets. He was very much loved by his family.
Surviving are son, Ronald (Nila) Conner of Lima, OH, daughters, Marilyn (Ray) Jeski of Lima, OH and Lynda Fields of Lima, OH., five grandchildren, Rhonda & Robert Peckham, Kelly l. & Kim Edwards, Cindy & Mark Dingledine, Julie Greenawalt, Kim Fields; Six great grandchildren, Tyler & Dannyelle Edwards, Ashlee & Adam Zehr, Cherie & Erik Swinehart, Celia Conner, Britton Weigt, Collin Peckham, Sic Great Great Grandchildren, Gavin, Ariah Aubrey, Haelyn, Halea, Hannah. Preceded in death by a granddaughter Kerri Greenawalt, and four brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be Thursday, August, 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at The funeral home. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
