Roger E. "Pepaw" Cygan, 81 of Lima, Ohio died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.
Born Sunday, September 1, 1929 in Chicopee, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John Cygan and the late Sarah Gelineau Cygan. He was the husband of the late Betty Rundio Cygan.
Roger E. "Pepaw" Cygan died peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, surrounded by the family he dearly loved. On September 25, 1948 in Lima, Ohio he married Betty L. Rundio, she preceded him in death on September 10, 2007. He was a line Setter for the Lima Ford Motor Engine Plant. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the UAW Local 1219. He loved Fishing, The OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns and Gardening. He loved attending his grandkids & great grandkids school and sports events and enjoyed his yearly family trip to Rice Lake, Ontario, Canada for the last 44 years. The family would like to thank Springview Manor and St. Rita's Hospice for all their loving care and dedication.
Surviving are daughters, Cathie Neu of Wapakoneta, OH, Debe (Les) Ambrister of Lima, OH and Kim (Joe) Page of Lima, OH, brother, Don Cygan of Lima, OH. Seven Grandchildren; Lisa (Bill) Burger, Jason (Heather Morgan) Neu, Joshua (Sondra) Ambrister, Jeremy (Carol) Ambrister, Ben (Kippi) Page, Brian (Tara) Page, Brent (Jessica Nehrenz) Page, Thirteen great grandchildren; Matthew Burger, Jacob Burger, Justin Neu, Zoe Neu, Logan Ambrister Laken Ambrister, Bailey Ambrister, Brielle Ambrister, Brynn Ambrister, Morgan Page, Grayson Flores, Kennedy Flores, Gabrielle Page, Three special friends, Andy Andrews, Harold Crowe, Janet Bryan.
He was predeceased by son, Michael Cygan, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Cygan.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Stephen Blum officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
